Planning permission granted at the Holiday Inn Express London City
We are delighted to confirm that Hackney Council have granted planning permission to extend and refurbish the existing Holiday Inn Express London City.
The scheme will deliver a two-storey upwards extension to accommodate 83 additional hotel bedrooms alongside recladding of the existing facade and refurbishment of the current guest facilities. It will also include the introduction of activated ground floor frontages on all four facades, including a publicly accessible cafe unit to improve connections with the surrounding pedestrian environment.
The scheme proposes to retain the existing building fabric, resulting in savings in embodied carbon and making efficient use of existing building stock. It will contribute to meeting the strong post-pandemic demand for visitor accommodation in Hackney, by introducing modern and high-quality facilities in a highly accessible and well sought after location.
